This boat trip departs from Rio Mau, on the Douro’s right bank near Entre-os-Rios, and continues upriver to where the Tâmega joins the Douro. It’s a stretch most standard cruises skip, with the river narrower and the banks closer on both sides.
Halfway through, there’s time to stop and swim. The water here tends to be calmer than closer to Porto, and the boat stays anchored long enough for a few laps before continuing.
